Commentary
Mentario is the shadow that surrounds and defines, a duality transformed into essence. In this collection, E·R·A·X revisits its very first proposal, distilling it into absolute black. An exercise in minimalism and character, where structure and movement confront one another, converge and rise together.
Black is not absence. It is accumulation.
Not emptiness, but everything that has come before.
Black is absolute.
It does not ask to be explained. It simply exists.
It is absence and totality, emptiness and fullness. We were taught to fear it, to associate it with the hidden, the forbidden, with whatever waits in the shadows. Yet black is far more than an enigma. It is affirmation. It is certainty. A force that needs no contrast to exist.
We fear it.
We admire it.
It conceals us and reveals us.
It envelops us and uncovers us.
Within its depth lies a paradox: restraint and expansion, ending and rebirth. It absorbs light only to return it transformed. It is mystery and elegance, absolute presence and latent emptiness.
Mentario gives form to that contradiction—the beauty of what remains hidden, the truth of what endures. A collection that reimagines black as a language, a statement, and a universe where opposites meet in perfect balance.
Mentario is built around a single voice: black. A lightweight stretch crepe shapes every garment, bringing together fluidity and structure in perfect contradiction. The silhouettes play with balance: defined waists contrast with architectural volume at the hips and shoulders, while revealing subtle glimpses of the back, abdomen and collarbones.
Each design is an exercise in precision and movement, where black becomes both language and absolute expression.
